First EADC Grand Prize Winner

Simplicity overrules, and that has been the case with the grand prize winner of the first EADC competition. A serene scape owned and created by Mr. Hasan Aydin in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The EADC (Emirates Aquatic Design Contest) launched for the first time on June 20, 2020 to showcase beautiful freshwater aquariums and recognize the skill and creativity of their respective owners. The competition hosted by Discus.ae was initiated and organized in collaboration with the Juwel Aquarium regional representatives with a collective goal to acknowledge and raise awareness of the rising aquascaping hobby in the United Arab Emirates.

The judges were assigned by the official sponsors to provide an unbiased opinion based solely on the picture submissions which were presented in simple code numbers without revealing the owners' identity, the overwhelmingly large number of entries have surpassed our expectations and brought forward a great insight into the level of skilled enthusiasts invested in this beautiful hobby.

An excellent example of "less is more" where a strong and lasting impression is established with simplicity and naturalness.

One entry in particular have captured the judges attention for being extremely effortless yet enchantingly striking, an excellent example of "less is more" where a strong and lasting impression is established with simplicity and naturalness. This creation belongs to Mr. Hasan Aydin, a dedicated enthusiast in Abu Dhabi who managed to win the first EADC and was generous to shed more light on his impressive scape and share further details.
