The Gertrudae Rainbowfish, also known as Spotted Blue-Eye or Gertrude's Rainbow, is a beautiful small sized variety of the blue-eye rainbowfish which thrives in very large schools in areas with dense vegetation making it an ideal candidate for a planted aquarium. It is peaceful with other species of similar size and can even be kept with adult dwarf shrimp. As with many rainbowfish, darker substrate will also often result to better colouration. Females are smaller with shorter fins and more golden in color tone.
This variety of the Pseudomugil species is compatible with many of our other larger fish, including our Stendker discus in larger planted aquariums, however we only recommend keeping it with similar sized tank mates.

Discus.ae prefers younger stock for their better ability to adapt to new water parameters and higher tolerance against transport. On rare occasions you may receive larger specimens when small fish are unavailable, however the smallest should be expected unless the size is noted as "Large" or "Adult".

There is strictly no replacement, return, or refund on any live animal and no guarantee or warranty on all livestocks after adding them to your aquarium. DOA (Dead On Arrival) must be notified immediately with proof and will be rewarded with a replacement or credit note.
All our live stocks are thoroughly tested and quarantined before packing and guaranteed to arrive free of tapeworms or diseases.
Tropical fish and inverts must be expected to lose color during transport and will arrive pale or white, a proper environment and diet is needed to regain coloration.
Any death or illnss of live animals after being added to an aquarium cannot be replaced or refunded. If such problems are encountered then it is connected to aquarium conditions or noncompatible tank mates (e.g. mixing with fish or plants from other sources).
Fish acclimation to a new aquarium is the sole responsibility of the buyer and not the Discus.ae delivery team.
