Terrestrial jewel orchid suitable for indoor pots, terrariums, and paludariums. One rooted cutting with 2 to 5 leaves only (delivered in a sealed bag).

Ludisia discolor 'Platinum Vein' (Platinum Vein Jewel Orchid) is admired for its luxurious dark green foliage decorated with striking silvery-white veins. Unlike the traditional Jewel Orchid, this beautiful variety features brighter green leaves with prominent platinum-colored markings that branch delicately across the leaf surface, creating an elegant contrast and a distinctive jewel-like appearance. Its compact growth habit makes it an exceptional choice for terrariums, vivariums, and indoor plant collections.

Like other jewel orchids, this terrestrial variety grows naturally along the shaded forest floor in humid tropical environments. It thrives in low to medium indirect light with consistently moist, well-drained substrate. Its creeping stems gradually produce new shoots, forming attractive clusters of richly patterned foliage over time. Mature plants may also produce delicate sprays of small white flowers, adding another ornamental feature to this beautiful orchid.

Care Tips:

Keep the substrate lightly moist at all times while ensuring excellent drainage. Avoid direct sunlight, as it may scorch the delicate velvety leaves and reduce their rich coloration. Higher humidity promotes healthier growth and more vibrant foliage, although established plants adapt well to typical indoor conditions with consistent watering.
